2023: Elumelu in Further Interaction with the Media, Presents Scorecard

Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and member representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, on Tuesday February 21, 2023, furthered his interaction with the media by appearing on ‘The Platform’ of the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The engagement is designed to afford the candidates of various political parties in the State the opportunity to present their manifestos to the public ahead of February 25 and March 11 elections.

Elumelu, who has continued to receive the endorsement of his Constituents for re-election into the National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), recalled his overwhelming victory in the 2019 election, which he attributed to the love of the people of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and the fatherly support of the State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa.

He told newsmen that though the journey had been turbulent and challenging, he had remained inspired by the confidence reposed in him by his constituents, from whom he draws the strength and courage for the successes recorded so far.

Elumelu stated that he was elected the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives by the grace of God, the goodwill of the entire people of Delta State and the efforts of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and others who fought hard to ensure that the position did not elude the State.

He revealed that the position of a Principal Officer of the House of Representatives had helped him to be of greater service to the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State and the country at large pointing out that he had been able to achieve what he could not have achieved as a floor member of the House.

Elumelu said besides the legislative duty of sponsoring bills and motions, he exerted himself in giving his Federal Constituency the deserving quality representation, characterized by tangible constituency projects and impactful empowerment programmes.

The Reps Minority Leader stated that transformers, solar powered street lights, town halls, civic centers, vocational centers and palaces for traditional rulers had been provided to communities across the four Local Government Areas of the Federal Constituency, while he had intervened in the upgrade of the Department of State Service, DSS office in Asaba and some police stations in the Federal Constituency as part of efforts to ensure the security of lives and property. He promised to continue to carry out empowerment programme for his constitutes

Elumelu thanked  the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency for their resolve to re-elect him to continue to represent them in the House of Representatives by voting massively for the PDP in the February 25 elections.

He urged the people to vote for Atiku/Okowa, Sheriff/Onyeme, Ned Nwoko, Emeka Nwaobi, Isaac Anwuzia, Bridget Anyafulu and Frank Esenwa, insisting that it must be PDP all the way.
