The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government in Delta State, Hon. Louis Ndukwe has commiserated with the wife and family of the Medical Director of Ibusa General Hospital, late Sir (Dr) Samuel Bielonwu whose death was announced last week.
Hon. Ndukwe in a statement, described the news of the demise of Dr. Bielonwu as shocking not only to him but to the entire people of Oshimili North, particularly Ibusa community where he has impacted positively on the people of the community as a refined and committed medical doctor.
“I am aware he was the doctor of Ibusa General Hospital where he showed his professional sagacity. Dr. Bielonwu fondly called DOCTOR was not like a close friend, but I am aware of families he assisted, even when those cases, health cases were going to be life consuming, effortlessly he came to their aid professionally and when fund became the issue he derived joy in offsetting the bills.
“He was a good man, even when I did not enjoy him as an individual, but the news of his death came as a great shock to all my constituents. Everybody cried because of his demise for the fact that he was a good man,” the Chairman said.
He empathized with the wife, Mrs Blessing Bielonwu who is the Head of Personal Management of Oshimili North Local Government, saying that the death of the husband must have been a great source of pain and anguish to her because of the great love she has for the husband, which the council boss noted, has been demonstrated often time in the cause of doing her job as the HPM of the Council.
“On the other hand, I am having a very fervent, mutual and cordial relationship administratively with my HPM, Mrs Blessing Bielonwu, the wife to Dr. Bielonwu. She is an astute administrator, one of the best I have ever found around.
“And I know that over time she has been a wonderful wife to the husband because in most cases she would have to emphasis the need to cook and ensure that her husband eats before she comes in the morning to the office. That moment, when I remember them at times, I pray that every man living, is blessed with such a wife and I know that right now she will be in pain.
“On behalf of the entire Ndukwe family, the Government and people of Oshimili North, i expressed our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Blessing Bielonwu and the entire Bielonwu family. We feel your pain, we know the kind of pain you will be going through now, because it is not easy to lose such a loved one,” Hon. Ndukwe stated.
He therefore prayed that God in his infinite mercy will grant her and the family the fortitude, energy to bear the irreparable loss, even as he called on the HPM to console herself in the Lord God Almighty who he said permitted the demise of the husband.
The council boss further emphasized on the need for her to keep herself strong for the children, who he noted, need her now that their father has gone to rest with the Lord and assured that the Oshimili North Local Government will be actively involved in the burial when the date for the final burial of late Dr. Bielonwu is fixed and communicated to the Council.
